Beckley Childrens Theatre Ministry

Beckley Children's Theatre (BCTM) is a non-profit children's theatre for children ages 6-18 that provides a place for fostering family and giving children a space to express themselves. BCTM has seen hundreds of kids since its founding and has developed a community around it.

Observing a rehersal and build

I attended a rehersal and a build day, which i helped with various tasks with a main focus on observing the leaders.

Sam Ingram

Sam ingram, directer, co founder.

VS

Leaders Followers

Too pateint.

Pateince, Charisma

Transformational

Laisses-Faire

Are there any strengths and/or limitations of the leader?

What characteristics, traits, behaviors, and/or attitudes does the leader demonstrate?

How would you describe the leader of the group’s leadership style and/or approach?

What type of leadership style encourages or motivates the members/followers?

Leadership Styles

They do alot of different things which require alot of different leadership methods.

Contengencey theory

Sam is a transformational leader who has a lot of expeirence in the field she teaches in. Shes also a very charismatic individual who gets along with others.

Consulting

  • Be stricter
In the rehersal i observeed, the kids were kinda running around rampant.
  • Adhere to a schedule
Practice seemed to be all ver the place, maybe make a schedule to make the whole practice more coherent.

Transactional Leaderaship

Kids can be controlled more if there inspired bya prize or reward. I think to keep everyones attention in rehersals maybe promise a treat or something.

Improvments

  • Multi-tasking
  • Authority

What suggestions would you make to encourage and motivate the performance or engagement of followers?

To get the kids involved more i would try and include them in some minor decision making. Nothing to big but big enough to make them feel like what there going to do is something that they decided to do.

Thank you

The End
