Can you complete this in as much detail as possible
You are going to be given a series of different pictures, stick these into your books in a vertical timeline of events, detailing next to each picture what it is showing. Are there any significant events missing from this? What do you conisder the turning point of Stanleys life? Orally rehearse his life story.
What do these words mean?
Questions?
What is the purpose of this writing? How much of this has come from the text itself? How is extra detail added succinctly?
Your Task
Today you are going to be writing a bulletin about what has happened to Stanley, similar to this. You are writing using formal tone (no apostrophes for contraction, formal language) to outline the key news that Stanley has been arrested and sentenced to Camp Green Lake. Consdier using information about his personality and situation from the grids you used earlier, as this contians a lot of the information you need to share. For your example discuss the arrest, sentencinga nd where he is now, including what it is like. Consider the 5W's as a great starting point for this. E.g. Stanley Yelnats, a young teenage thief from Texas, has been sentenced to hard time at the local juveille penitentiary after stealing some legendary basketball shoes. Use this as your WAGOLL and then make it your own. Can you use? Brackets Dashes Adverbials / fronted adverbials, Commas to show clauses Formal language
