Shakespeare Globe

Shakespeare's Globe is a famous theater in London, a modern reconstruction of the original Globe Theatre where many of William Shakespeare’s plays were performed in the early 1600s.

• Destruction: The original Globe burned down in 1613 after a cannon misfired during a performance of Henry VIII.

• Open-Air Design: Like the original, the modern Globe is an open-air theater with a thatched roof.
