General information

  • Native Americans originally from Northern California
  • Settled in the central Sierra Nevada, between Feather and Yuba rivers
  • Before Europeans' arrival, Yana population counted probably less then 3000 individuals.

Yana were almost completely exterminated during the California genocide.
