The architecture of the northern Aegean islands blends various styles, including **Byzantine**, **Ottoman**, and **neoclassical** influences. Buildings are often made from local stone, with wooden balconies and earthy tones that harmonize with the natural surroundings. Neoclassical structures, characterized by elegant facades, large windows, and columns, are common in historical towns like **Mytilene** on Lesbos. This mix of architectural styles, along with medieval castles and old mansions, reflects the region’s rich cultural heritage.
