SL helps us to see and carry out community work to help with problems facing the community in which we will develop professionally in the future with certain skills we should have as future teachers.
The social commitment aims at a double transformation: of society and of the student, and is based on the mission and value principles declared by the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. It implies the development in students of a genuine interest in the processes that are generated in the social environment of which they are part, that they are critical of these processes and demonstrate behaviors of professional excellence guided by social justice.
He is actively involved in society through his professional and personal work, seeking to achieve a better quality of life for people.
Critically and constructively analyze the social environment and their role in it, relating causes, effects and possible solutions to the problems that arise in this reality, from their disciplinary framework and guided by social justice.
Knows and understands the current reality of the country with objective data and becomes aware of its diversity and main problems.

The student understands and critically analyzes the different social realities of Chile and is sensitized by them. He/she gets involved and contributes to the improvement and transformation of reality from a promotional approach in favor of social justice.
