Hedy Lamarr

Welcome to our special one-minute podcast celebrating Women's History Month!

Today, I am highlighting Hedy Lamarr, who not only was a renowned actress but also a brilliant inventor!

Some of her accomplisments include co-inventing a radio guidance system for Allied torpedoes with composer George Antheil. This system used frequency-hopping technology to prevent the jamming of radio signals by the Axis powers. Although it wasn't used during the war, the technology later became the foundation for modern wireless communication, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS
