The role of the language assistant

- You will colaborate four days a week from October to May. You can find detailed information in the Language Assistants Guidelines. (Page 26-31)

- The language assistant helps the classroom teacher, mainly in Non Linguistique Subjects of the English Bilingual Programme, such as Sciences. - Their efforts are aimed to strengthen the oral skills of the students. - Here you can see some materials made by some of our formers assistants.

GETTING TO SCHOOL

- The school is located in a town called ''Montilla'' in Cordoba. If you live in Montilla you can go walking or if you prefer living in Cordoba you can go by bus ( Carrera Autocares ) The trip takes 35 minutes. - There is the possibility of car-pooling with other teachers.

MONTILLA, OUR TOWN

- Montilla is a town and municipality of Spain, located in the autonomous community of Andalusia. As of 2017, the town had a population of 23,209, which makes it the fourth most populated municipality of the Province of Córdoba. It lies 32 miles south of the provincial capital, Córdoba. - The olive oil of the district is abundant and good, and it is the peculiar flavour of the pale dry light wine of Montilla that gives its name to the sherry known as Amontillado. Montilla is the largest component of the Montilla-Moriles designated wine region. The large wineries Alvear and Gran Barquero are located in Montilla, which has an annual vendimia (wine-harvest) festival.

- Córdoba is a city in Andalusia, Spain, and the capital of the province of Córdoba. It is the third most populated municipality in Andalusia. - The city primarily lies on the right bank of the Guadalquivir in the south of the Iberian Peninsula. - Córdoba is home to notable examples of Moorish architecture such as the Mezquita-Catedral, which was named as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984 and is now a cathedral. - What to eat in Cordoba: Salmorejo, flamenquín, mazamorra, rabo de toro, berenjenas fritas, alcachofas a la montillana, ajoblanco and boquerones en vinagre and pastel cordobés.
