Botticelli really infuenced the world of art espescially with "The Birth of Venus". His paintings are still mentioned or refered to in plenty of works like James Bond (in the film Dr. No,1962) or Picnic at Hanging Rock (1967).

botticelli's inluence and Impact

His influence is lead to space where a crater on Mercury holds his name.

Botticelli wanted to represent the Neoplatonic idea and meaning of divine love in the form of a nude Venus.

The birth of venus

Fortitude is portrayed as a young woman wearing armour over her graceful dress and holding a ruler's sceptre. In spite of the military attributes, the Virtue alludes to strength and perseverance in the pursuit of good.

Fortitude

The mythological figures in the painting are an allegory of spring and of the kindling of love

spring

Venus, the goddess of love, looks over at her lover Mars. She is alert and dignified, while he – the god of war – is utterly lost in sleep. He doesn't even notice the chubby satyr (half child, half goat) blowing a conch shell in his ear
