Greek Myths and Fairy Tales Greek myths and fairy tales are the foundation of Western culture, full of gods, heroes and monsters. For centuries they have been an inspiration for art, literature and philosophy. They tell stories of love, revenge, courage and cunning, as well as great battles and extraordinary adventures.

Key Characters and Motifs:Zeus – ruler of the gods, lord of the sky and thunder, symbol of power and justice. Hercules – hero who went through twelve labors to prove his courage. Sirens – mysterious sea creatures who tempted sailors with their songs. Pegasus – winged horse, symbol of freedom and strength. Medusa – monster with snakes instead of hair, whose gaze turned into stone.

Most Interesting Characters and Motifs: Vile – magical fairies living in mountains and rivers, who can help or harm people. Golden Dragon – a powerful guardian of golden apples, which gave extraordinary power. King of Snakes – a mysterious ruler who could take human form. Mermaid from the story of Ribić Palunko – a water creature who could both help and deceive people.

The World of Polish Tales Polish legends are stories that combine history, magic and folklore. They contain supernatural elements, talk about heroes, monsters and magical creatures.

Most important Polish legends: The Wawel Dragon - guarded Krakow and was supposed to threaten its inhabitants until one day he was defeated by a shoemaker. The Warsaw Mermaid - a figure who protected Warsaw from danger, holding a shield and a sword in her hand. Pan Twardowski - a sorcerer who made a pact with the devil and avoided his punishment for many years.
