Our Solution

To Sex Education

When Should It Start?

Consent talks should start as soon as kids go into Kindergarten, and sex education should start at around the 3rd grade. We should also ensure that there is a proper sex education or consent talk each year through middle and high school. Teacher training is also essential to making sure schools talk effectively to their students about these crucial subjects.

Elementary

Once a semester, they should have a presentation that is not separated by gender. This should go over consent, inappropriate touching, and creating a safe space for students to be able to talk to adults if something happens to them. Having a counselor that elementary students can talk to is very important for making sure they can confide in an adult about problems that may be occurring

Middle School · Once a month · Access to contraceptives · Trained counselors per population · More In-Depth Discussion Anatomy/Changes During Puberty · More In-Depth Explanation of the Process of Sex (contraceptives, pregnancy (effective/non effective), stis, mental and physical, etc.) · Sexuality inclusive · Larger emphasis consent and what qualifies as consent.

Schools should also offer sex education two times a month, support for high schoolers going through teen pregnancy, and offer counseling when needed.

They should also go more in-depth, going into more detail about what was discussed in middle school.

High School students are the most likely of all years to engage in sexual activity. Schools should provide easy access to contraceptives.
