Origins of Lucifer and His Fall from Heaven

Creation in heaven

• “You were the seal of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone was your covering: the sardius, topaz, and diamond, beryl, onyx, and jasper, sapphire, turquoise, and emerald with gold. The workmanship of your timbrels and pipes was prepared for you on the day you were created. You were the anointed cherub who covers; I established you; you were on the holy mountain of God; you walked back and forth in the midst of fiery stones. You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created, till iniquity was found in you.” - Ezekiel 28:12-15

• Lucifer was one of the highest-ranking angels, known as a cherub. He was created perfect, beautiful, and full of wisdom, but pride and sin led to his downfall.

• Seraphim – Worship God continually and proclaim His holiness.
• Cherubim – Guard God’s presence and divine mysteries.
• Thrones – Carry out God’s justice and uphold His authority.
• Dominions – Govern lower angels and enforce divine order.
• Virtues – Perform miracles and strengthen faith.
• Powers – Defend against demonic forces and spiritual warfare.
• Principalities – Guide nations and rulers according to God’s will.
• Archangels – Deliver God’s messages and lead in major spiritual battles.
• Angels – Act as personal messengers and protectors for humans.

The enemie's Motivation

• "How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, you who weakened the nations! For you have said in your heart: 'I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation on the farthest sides of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.' Yet you shall be brought down to Sheol, to the lowest depths of the Pit.” - Isaiah 14:12-15

• Lucifer's sin was pride he desired to be like God, to elevate himself above all creation. This pride led to his rebellion and ultimate downfall.

War in Heaven

• "Now war arose in heaven, Michael and his angels fighting against the dragon. And the dragon and his angels fought back, but he was defeated, and there was no longer any place for them in heaven. And the great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world—he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.” - Revelation 12:7-9 -

The enemie'sMission

To Steal, Kill and Destroy

• “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” - John 10:10
• His ultimate goal is to destroy people, to ruin lives, kill your faith, ruin relationships and cause division.

To Tempt and Cause People to Sin

• "Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. And after fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. And the tempter came and said to him, 'If you are the Son of God, command these stones to become loaves of bread.'” - Matthew 4:1-3

Examples

• Lying to avoid trouble
• Cheating on a test
• Stealing something small
• Skipping church or prayer for something more fun

To Deceive the Masses

• "You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father's desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” - John 8:44

Examples

• Convincing people that he doesnt exist
• The world promotes “follow your heart”
• promising fame and success in return to do his will
• Offering temporary satisfaction like drugs or alcohol
• normalizing sin through movies, social media, movies like harry potter making witchcraft seem cool or exciting
• promoting false religions, making people believe that all religions lead to truth or that truth doesnt even exist

Jesus Wins

End of Satan

“There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.” - Romans 8:1-2

"After this I heard what seemed to be the loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, crying out, ‘Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God, for his judgments are true and just; for he has judged the great prostitute who corrupted the earth with her immorality, and has avenged on her the blood of his servants.’” - Revelation 19:1-2

"And when the thousand years are ended, Satan will be released from his prison and will come out to deceive the nations that are at the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them for battle; their number is like the sand of the sea. And they marched up over the broad plain of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city, but fire came down from heaven and consumed them, and the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.” - Revelation 20:7-10

The message of salvation

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” - John 3:16-17
