WHY STUDY HERE

Would I recommend UGent? Yes, but with a heads-up: be prepared for a heavy workload, a lot of group work, and an extremely demanding exam period. Despite the academic challenges, I don’t regret my time in Ghent— it’s a fantastic city, and I met some great people along the way.

Looking ahead, I know that what I learned at UGent—both academically and personally—will help me in the future. Whether it’s in my career or further studies, this experience has given me confidence and new perspectives. If you’re considering Ghent University, I’d say go for it—you won’t regret it!

I have met a lot of people from around the world thorugh my exchange in Ghent and I have also been able to discover new places and cities. The size of the city has also been perfect as a student to live in. And I am truly going to miss Ghent. I cant wait to come back and I would definitely recommend it to other students as an exchange semester to come here. I have also loved the proximity to other european countries and cities to visit. Hopefully I will be back soon!

For me, the Erasmus in Gent was also my first Erasmus experience. I've never seen such a student city like Gent before. Sooo many students and how they change the dynamics of the city during the week truly surprised me. Also, I've never seen a city where "the bike is the king". Studying at UGent was a nice experience - there are so many campuses and some of them look really nice! After the whole semester spent here, I can say I really enjoyed it here and I'm very glad that I decided to go in Erasmus, to Belgium.

Overall, I had a wonderful time in Ghent and I can honestly recommend both the city as well as the university to everyone. It has been the perfect combination of learning a lot of valuably things on my master specialization in well-structured and competent lectures as well as exams and having a vivid social life in an exciting city, gathering a lot of memories and meeting new friends.

Overall, my Erasmus stay at Ghent University was a perfect balance of academic growth, cultural immersion, and personal development. I highly recommend it to anyone considering an Erasmus exchange.

Overall, the level of education was high and the courses offered a suitable challenge. I especially liked the strategic management course, which was project-based and gave an opportunity to work with a real client company.
