This artifact is a high school. This symbolizes Opportunity High, which is where the main characters went to school. I chose this because most of the story takes place here. The only time that the story is not at the school is when Claire and Chris are running, and when they flashback to somewhere else. The artifact ties back to the book because it is mentioned almost all the time. This artifact is where all of the bad stuff happens.

Setting

This ballet braclet charm symbolizes Autumn's personality as brave because it was given to her by her brother. Her brother, Tyler, had been the person who had been shooting in the school, but she never lost hope that he could be good again. I chose this item because it helped Autumn do what she needed to do to get to Tyler. It gave her hope because she thought that she could bring back the Tyler who had given her that charm. The artifact ties back to te book because Autumn wore it around her wrist during the shooting. It was a decent part of the story, and it prooved to be significent to her.

Personality

Tone

This artifact is meant to symbolize suspense. This is a clapperboard that is often used in movies, and movies can often be intese. I chose this because the author puts the reader in suspense a lot. When the author switches sections from person to person, it stops giving information for the first character. The artifact realates back to the book because the book contains suspense on almost every page. Though, the clapperboard is not in the book, this story is intense, and it is a roller coaster.

This artifact symbolizes the gun that Tyler used in the book, and character vs. society. This gun was why all of the bad things happened. The reason I chose a gun for the conflict is that the main problem is a school shooting. Tyler has a gun, and he has killed several students and teachers. This artifact ties back to the book because if the gun wasn't in the story, nothing would have happened. The gun is the main part of the story, and the reason that the book even has a good story line.

Conflict

This artifact is someone cutting the words "I can't do it" because the theme could be to be resilient. This item is meant to deminstrate somebody continuing on what they are doing. I chose this because the theme is to not give up because everyone in the story is try hard to survive, and none of them give up. For example, when Thomas was going to confront Tyler, he didn't run away. This artifact ties back to the book because nobody voluntarily gave up. Most of the people stood ther ground, and tried to stop Tyler.

Theme

This book is called "This is Wher it Ends," by Marieke Nijkamp. It is an action thirller, and it is very suspence full. Tyler is the main antagonist, and he is the school shooter. He had been beat up and bullied at Oportunity, causing him to do bad things, and make him very mad the students and teachers. He wanted revenge. He had injured and killed people, including his own sister name Autumn, and Thomas. Thomas is Sylvia's brother, and Sylvia is Autumn's girlfriend. Other major characters are Claire and Chris, who are both on the track team. This book takes place at Opportunity High School, at 10-11AM. I chose this book because it seemed to be entertaining. This wasn't my favorite book I've read, but it wasn't the worst. I didn't mind reading this book. Page 114 "The shot mingles with Asha's shriek of grief. As if everything worth fighting for has died at thtat moment." (Nijkamp 114). I would give this book a 3.5 out of 5 stars. I would recomend this to anyone who like suspenseful books. I would recomend this to these people because every time a perspective changes, the section ends.
