There were several phases of which various life forms were disappearing. Some suggest that these could've been caused by receding seas. Others say it could relate to a sudden drop in water temperature.

FUN FACTS!

1. The most fearsome predator from the Cambrian sea known as the Anomalocaris. There was also a five-eyed creature by the name of Opabinia. 2. During the Cambrian period, the first first animals with hard shells and exoskeletons appeared for the first time. 3. Some of the most dominant forms of plant life were single-cell algae plants that banded together and formed colonies. 4. The Cambrian seas had elevated oxygen levels during this time. Combined with temperature, these characteristics could explain the extensive list of marine life forms. 5.There are over 600 known genera of Cambrian tribolite species.
