Introduction to the emotion of fear
΅What is fear spot on science
In the heart of the magical forest, Lemο the lemur was feeling uneasy. Every time the sun began to set, he noticed large shadows creeping along the ground, and they made him feel very scared.
One evening, as the shadows grew longer, Lemο rushed to find Leo the Balancer. "Leo, I'm so afraid of those big shadows! They look like they’re going to swallow me up!" he exclaimed, his tail trembling with fear. Leo smiled kindly at Lemο and sat down beside him. "I understand, Lemurius. Shadows can look scary, but I know a way to help you feel braver. Let’s use a little math magic with the 'mouth' of inequalities." Lemurius tilted his head, curious but still a bit nervous. "What do you mean, Leo?"
Leo drew two big symbols in the dirt: > and <. "These symbols are like mouths, Lemο. The mouth always wants to eat the bigger thing, just like how your fear might seem bigger than it really is." Leo picked up a few small pebbles and a big rock. "Imagine the small pebbles are your fears, and the big rock is your courage. The mouth of the symbol < is pointing towards the bigger rock, showing that your courage is greater than your fear."
>
<
Then, Leo drew the symbols again, but this time he used >. "Now, the mouth is open towards your fear, making it seem bigger than your courage. But we can change this! We can always choose to open our mouth towards our courage, making it stronger."
>
Lemο watched as Leo moved the pebbles and the rock around. "So, if I focus on my courage, it can be bigger than my fear?" "Exactly!" said Leo. "And remember, the big shadows might look scary, but they’re just shadows—your courage can be much bigger."

Feeling a bit braver, Lemurius nodded. "I think I understand. The next time I see a shadow, I'll remember to use the courage symbol to make my fear smaller!"
