Wrestling with God

Start

Constructive ChallengeS Help Us Grow

The path of growing—both individually and as a group—cannot be traveled without effort. God's promises make this work possible. God makes an environment where you can try, and in trying, learn. In a few minutes, you'll read a story about Jacob and his journey of growth as he faced the frightening task of meeting his brother, Esau—whom he had betrayed and deceived. In this story, you'll hear of Jacob wrestling with God. Before we read, let’s remind ourselves of what God has promised. Everyone should read the larger words aloud together, and one person should read the verses that accompany them.
