While tourism brings money and jobs, it also changes the city in unexpected ways. How does mass tourism affect the daily lives of locals? What happens to businesses, housing, and historical sites when millions of visitors arrive every year?

The Teatro Romano is the oldest monument in Málaga City, and one of the only Ancient ruins left in Málaga. 🔎 Task: Take a picture or selfie with it in the background, trying to capture all the tourist around it as well. 💬 Question: How does mass tourism affect the preservation of historical monuments like this one? Look for signs of erosion, fences, or restoration efforts.

Plaza de la Merced is one of the largest and best-known squares in the city. Spanish artist Picasso was born in a nearby building. 🔎 Task: Find Picasso's statue, and take a picture with it. Were there many tourists taking the same picture? 📝 Question: How has social media changed the way people travel? Are we enjoying the moment or just looking for the "perfect shot"? 📸 Bonus Challenge: Find and take a picture of a sign protesting against mass tourism.

Take down Granada Street and head down to Larios Street. 🔎 Task: Visit Ultramarinos Zoilo, one of Málaga’s oldest grocery shops. Compare its products with those sold in souvenir shops. 📸 Bonus Challenge: Take a picture of a traditional local product vs. a touristy one. 💬 Question: How many traditional shops like this do you think remain in Málaga?

A little bit further down on the right, you'll find El Pimpi, one of the longest-standing bodega bars in the city. 🔎 Task: Go inside and take a picture next to the famous barrels of sweet wine, typical from Málaga. 💬 Question: Have a look around. Do you see many locals, or is it mostly tourists? Ask the staff if mass tourism is affecting them in any way.

Continue through Granada Street till you reach Plaza del Carbón. What once was a public square, is now the terrace of a restaurant. 🔎 Task: Walk around Plaza del Carbón and nearby streets. Look at the menus of at least three different restaurants.💬 Questions:
- How many of them offer traditional Málaga dishes vs. international or generic tourist food (pizza, burgers, etc.)?
- Do you see menus in multiple languages? What does that tell you about their target customers?

Formerly known as the main square, Plaza de la Constitución is the hub of Málaga's life. It's a space for locals to express themselves and have fun. 🔎 Task: One of the most iconic buildings surrounding the square, Café Central, recently closed. Take a picture of what you can find there now. 📝 Question: What other businesses have disappeared from this area? (Ask a local shop owner or resident.)

This busy tree-lined boulevard, which is the backbone of the city's east and west, is one of the most historical streets in Málaga. 🔎 Task: Count how many taxis, tourist buses, and electric scooters you see in 10 minutes. 📸 Bonus Challenge: Take a picture of a traffic jam or crowded sidewalk—how does this affect locals?

Among the most famous landmarks in the city, allows not only to visit its interior but also to go up to the rooftop for a fee. 🔎 Task: Observe how many people are taking selfies vs. learning about the history of the cathedral. 💬 Question: How much does it cost to visit the rooftop? To get to your final destination, walk along Palmeral de las Sorpresas, which restores the relationship between the city and the sea. 🔎 Task: Visit the port area and count how many large cruise ships are docked. 💬 Question: Cruise passengers often spend only a few hours in Málaga. Do you think they contribute enough to the local economy? 📸 Bonus Challenge: If a cruise ship is docked, try to estimate how many people have arrived. Take a picture of the most tourist-heavy spot in the area.
