MURAL

This image is a picture of a structure, probably a house with a mural on it's wall. It shows an ireland map (the irish land's the yellow partt). In the middle of the mural, there is a soldier leaving the land, taken by a dove. The messages are explaining a departure of the britanics from Northern Ireland. Irlande du Nord. This mural was done during a rude period of 30years of conflicts in Ireland, The Troubles. The identity of the mural's author isn't known.

Colors:

The colours mostly used in this mural, are Blue and Yellow. These colours have strong significations.First, Yellow, surrounding the soldier, might represents hope and change toward peace, while also highlighting his departure. Also Blue, dominating the house, might evokes stability, serenity, but also the British identity The contrast between these colors highlights the central message: peace can only be achieved with the departure of British forces, marking the end of a period of conflict.

Dialogues:

This sentence is a call for the end of the tensions and to etablish a peaceful relation between those 2 nations. The dove (=peace) is pronouncing these words renforcing the idea of a collective aspiration to end violences. It's emphasizing the volountee to turn the page after years of thoubles and violences.

This sentence seems to be addressed to the British forces, suggesting British soldiers no longer have their place in Northern Ireland. The attitude of the soldier saying those words, symbolise a resignation or maybe a forced departure. This could be a crisis of the British military presence in Northern Ireland during the conflict.

The Characters:

The man doesn't look good, he is looking at the ground, which makes him seem exhausted. His uniform suggests that he represents a British soldier. The white bird is a dove, a universal symbol of peace. Its presence can be interpreted as a call to end violence and armed conflicts to let place to peace. We can clearly see, that the dove carries the man, probably supporting him in all his suffering.

Here, we can notice at list 2 others Duo of Dove+Soldier, showing that's a massive action

Flags significations:

The Irish flag:It's representing the Republic of Ireland and the Irish nationalism. The UK's flag ( called the Union Jack): It's representing the uniosm and the attachment of Ireland toward the idea of keeping Northern Ireland a part of the UK We thinks that taking the decisions to but them at each corner of the mural was perhaps to emphasize the opposition between both in this conflict.
