La voix passive
En anglais comme en français il y a deux voix qui sont: la voix active et la voix passive. Elles indiquent si le sujet fait l'action ou s'il subit l'action.
Quand le sujet fait l'action, c'est la voix active. Ex: A man killed the victim. A man est le sujet c'est lui qui agit et a tué la victime.
Grammar point
Quand le sujet subit l'action, c'est de la voix passive. Ex: The victim was killed by a man. C'est le sujet "the victim" qui subit l'action et a été tué par le tueur. "The killer" qui fait l'action est le complément d'agent introduit par by. Formation: Sujet + AUXILIAIRE BE (au preterit ou au present) + Participe passé (3e colonne des verbes irréguliers ou verbe en -ed)

L'hypothèse peut être exprimée soit avec un adverbe: probably, perhaps, maybe, certainly, surely soit avec un modal. L'adverbe se place avant le verbe! Ex: He surely is the murderer
