Lucio Vilela

While Lucio Vilela '26 is not an immigrant himself, his parents noth are. His father was born in Brazil and his mother was Taiwanese. HIs parents met in America after they had immigrated, and he was then born in Ventura, Ca, where he has resided since.

Vanessa Flores

Vanessa Flores '26 is a junior at Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) who immigrated from Mexico to Oxnard when she was 10 years old. She then moved to camarillo, then again to Ventura where she has lived since.

Xue Ting Chen

Xue Ting Chen '27 immigrated from China when she was seven-years-old, her Grandfather and Father immigrating at first because of the poor business opportunities in china, with the rest of her family following. Upong arriving, she could not speak english and had to learn throughout her childhood.

Nahla Romia

In 2015 during the Syrian Civil War, Nahla Romia immigrated to America. When she first arrived, she lived with one of her students until she could work her way up to living on her own. After a few years, she met her husband and became a teacher. According to her, a hard part of her transition was adjusting to being an American teacher instead of teaching as she did in Syria.
