Second unit Evaluation

The children answerd to a series of questions and we evaluated the unit. The results of the evaluation can be seen here, in the document.

Dr Steam sent a video to congratulate for finishing the second unit.

The children gianed their second medal and puzzle piece.

Thank you!

The wind is....

Once upon a time, a smooth white sheet of paper rested peacefully on a classroom table. Suddenly, a strong wind blew through the window, snatching the sheet and taking it on an unforgettable adventure across Europe. Each class writes a sentence, a message related to the wind.

Each child created a drawing of themselves and their scarf blowing in the wind.

A good exercise for our small cheek muscels is blowing through a straw. Each child created drawings of children with oil pastels. then they added a few drops of paint and they blew air creating their hair .

Can we make a car move if we blow air?

Aeolus wanted to reach the island of windmills. So my children created a route or our little beebot. We designed the route and sent it to the children of the 3rd Kindergarten of Katerini, Greece.

The children discover what will happen if they blow air in water.

We held air races. Each child had a small pom pom and a straw. 1,2,3, go! They had to blow and move their pom pom. The first child that reached the finish line won!

The children created 2 same mazes with legos. Then in pairs the competed and moved various balls blowing air from a straw.

Some of the childrens drawings.

The children had fun! We put water , paint and some liquid soap. The children blew air and created colorful bubbles.

It is Winter and we drew snowmen. Put him in a plastic cup, added fake snow and a straw.

Next we investigated what objects air can move. The children did predictions and we experimented and tested each object. We used a small fan and light and heavy objects.

The children had a problem to solve: Move the boat without touching it. They tested various suggestions.

Finding the solution for Dr. Steam. Lifting his heavy boxes.

Collaborative paint

The partners created pairs. Each pair created together a collaborative painting. The children used a straw to blow the paint. And our virtual exhibition was created.

Since air begins with the letter A, we found words that begin with this letter. Each child created a drawing of a word. We then created the dictionary of air.

Each child had a small plastic bag and tried to capture air. First we tried in our classroom and after in our garden. We described how air was.

Our second car moves with air also. But this car has a balloon. First you fill the ballooon with air and you let it go.

On our discovery center the children had various objects light and heavy from around our classroom. Thney could go and experiment and blow air. They had to organise the objects and find which they could move with air and which they could not.

They tested if there is air in a bottle and how it reacts with water.

Beebot challenge 1

The schools collaborated and created pairs. The first school created the route for the class robot and the second shcool programmed their robot. This is the outcome.

When you blow air the snowstorm begins!

We listen to the song and did various activities!

Dr Steam sent us a letter asking for our help. He has heavy boxes and wants to move them. He is curious how can air be used to move them. He sent us 4 balloons with various amount of air. We released them and saw where they landed. We saw how they flew and counted the distance of their landing .

The children had their scarf and danced to the song.

Blow art Paintings 1

The children playing in the garden and having fun. This is our collaborative picture. The 3rd Kindergarten of Anatoli, Ioannina , Greece created the sky and grass. They sent it to us. And we created the children .

We collaborated with the children of the 2nd Kindregarten of Aliartos, Greece. They created the trees and sent them to us. And my children created the leaves.
