industry is born.

Like so often the case in financial services, it all began with one major provider labelling
existing services as a new proposition - global custody. Over the ensuing decades, the term
value-added emerged, followed by other flowery jargon like interoperability, instividualisation,
quantopia and transformation. Today, machine learning, including AI, has shaken, but not yet
stirred the industry. Global custody now encompasses securities services, data and technology.
Private market assets are now accumulating wealth faster than traditional assets and we are
accustomed to digital and tokenised investable assets.
