You can use all of BUW's collections on site in the Library
Books and journals in the Open Stacks (PL: Wolny Dostęp) area on Level 1 and 2 can be used in all areas of the Library intended for Readers. Books and journals requested to the Reading Room (PL: Czytelnia) can be used only in the Reading Room on Level 2. You cannot take them outside its premises. You can use microfilm and microfiche requested to the Reading Room at the desks indicated by the librarian.
You can only read current newspapers (those received by BUW in a given year) within the Current Periodicals Reading Room on Level 2.
Books belonging to the Austrian Library (Level 3) should be read in the area occupied by the Library.
Books, journals and newspapers that you have used in the Open Stacks area, the Current Periodicals Reading Room and the Austrian Library should only be returned to the trolleys provided for this purpose.

The Reading room is open from Monday to Saturday from 9 am to 9 pm

- books and journals requested from the Closed Stacks (Magazyn)
- microfilms and microfiche
- CDs/DVDs and films from the Watch Docs collection
- doctoral theses from the UW Repository
- free scanner

- Request option in the online catalogue,
- Request option in the Digitised Card Catalogues.
Request procedure
- requests placed from Monday to Saturday by 8 pm are delivered the same day,
- requests placed from Monday to Friday after 8 pm are processed the following day,
- requests placed on Saturdays after 8 pm and on Sundays are processed on Monday.
