LET'S PLAY

I am here because I like to build nests in the embankments of soft earth near the rivers. I build a gallery up to 2 metres long and the nest at the end. I'm sure you'll soon see the entrance holes. I am also a very sociable bird and I like to live in groups. We raise our offspring together with many other couples. But only in summer, as I live in Africa during the winter. You can see me standing high up on thin branches, or on telephone wires, observing my potential prey: I usually hunt flying insects such as dragonflies, bees, bumblebees and wasps. Incidentally, my name is also related to one of these insects What people like most about me are my many bright colours: Blue belly, brown-red head, green-brown wingsand my yellow tail
