LET'S PLAY
I am one of the smallest birds of prey. I belong to the family of falcons. Unlike my cousin, the sparrowhawk, I like to be out in the open field, with nearby woods. On the fields I hunt mice, squirrels and large insects such as beetles. You can see me hovering like a helicopter in the sky, looking for my next prey among the plants. I also often sit on my observation spots, such as telephone masts, and watch my surroundings. My head is grey, my back is brown and underneath it’s cream- coloured with brown spots (the male).
