this lesson, we did a devising exersise using newsparer theatre techniques to help us build on.the devised piece that my group came up with was a news reporter giving constant updated news about whether a video of a celebrity was AI generated or real and how it is getting those people in danger because of the alleged fottage being real.

The theme for this production is AI and things surrounding technology. the class was put into smaller groups to come up with a short devised performance that we would have to make within 6 weeks before performance day

the business woman and the engineer were doing some final touches to the robot so that they can finally present it to the client.
catherine comes to the warehouse that the robt was built in to see if the ai is cabable to do all that is expected of catherine so that she is satified to buy the robot.she signed the contract not knowing what was on it becasue it was a scam
2 of catherines other friends went to see her and was in shock when they found out she had an ai robot and that she was perofrming live on tv and saw it for themself. the friends read the contract and pointed out the company who made the robot took oll of her money.
catherine called the business woman and had an arguement with her over the contract.the business woman stuck to her choice and agree with the contract
ai catherine was interviewed but the interviewer found it wierd that the ai catherine was very confident and was contrididcting what catherine said not too long ago. catherine bursted in the interview and then later on called out the whole company and there schemes

scene 4 starts with catherines friend walking in her house and checking on her to see how shes been doing. catherine has then told her friend about the idea of an ai robot taking over her job and the friend was automatically repeled by the idea.
scene 3 starts with a business woman pitching an idea to catherine talknig about having ai robots doing all the work for celebrities
scene 2 cuts straight to catherine and an interviewer having a discussion which is when catherine expresses her feelings being new in the industry and the struggles she faces aswell and has even admitted to wanting to have someone do her work for her
scene 1 is catherine performing a monologue for a movie she was starring in but then due to her not performing it to the best of her abilities the directer entered the scene screaming 'cut'.

for the production, im responsible for light design and i think that since this is based around AI, then the typical colours such as white,grey and blue would be the base colours for most of the scenes .

professional life:catherine was born in london in 2018which makes her 22.she has had a passion for acting for a couple of years and has slowy started rising to fame in her 20s.in the start of the play, she has been shown to be playing a southern character doing a monologue.she has been given alot of acting projects and has even spoiled a karate movie shes filming after catherine 2.0 could do a hight level of karate.

the interviewer was more of a background character but in the devised performance they made catherines character and personality alot more clearer and was able to tell the difference between both catherine and catherine 2.0 which helped the plot of the story.

catherine 2.0 is an AI robot who was built by a company that makes deepfakes of cebebrities for the soul reason to steal there careers. for this story, catherine is the celebrity that this company is trying to steal the career of. catherine 2.0 is only 5 months old and is very new to the AI world and has been shown to have its good qualities but also its bad qualities for example:.it can do shotokan karate .has similar characteristics its bad qualities: .the robot is alot more confident than catherine .the robot is taller and noticably different to catherine

the engineer who was working on catherine 2.0 was first seen in scene 5 just after one of catherines friend was trying to talk her out of this idea of having an ai robot doing all of the work for her.they have been shown to be a bit crazy in terms of how they acted but also very intelligent in terms of electronics. the engineer was also part of the plan of scamming catherine along side the business woman and were presenting themself as very welcoming so that they can trick catherine into giving them all of her money

in the performance, catherine had 3 of her friends shown and even though they were not in the same scene, they were all making it very clear that the idea of an ai robot doing all of the work for catherine was a bad idea and that it was not thought out in any sort of way and then they all were proven right when 2 of the friends found out that there is not money in catherines account no more

childrens theatre:what is childrens theatre? .a family friendly show that the main target audience is children .pantomimes and alot of theatre shows based around folk tale or fiction stories are usually shown in childrens theatre.
AI stands for arificial intelligence and some modern day websites that are known for the usage of AI are snapchat and chatgpt and alot more. AI was made in the late 40 and has slowly started to evolve over the years. AI in terms of the performing arts industry has done alot more harm than good.from it creating deepfakes of celebrities to it making a whole movie and potentially getting people out of jobs.in 2023,there was a SAG strike that happened that effected alot of actors jobs and it was due to AI being a very huge threat to alot of actors careers being so close to ending and if it worked out where AI was more used,alot of people would be out of jobs. luckly for theatre actors, there jobs were basically untouched so they still had a stable source of income but on screen actors were stuggling for a period of time.

log:the first day of this project we were given an article that had an example of AI deepfakes and that was what our piece was based off. we were also given a picture of a woman that was half robot and half natural and we were given a task to use that as a stimuli and make a little movement like piece that was based of that picture so with my group we made 4 still images based off that picture and we kept it just in case it would have been able to help us later on on this unit. we also took some inspirations from the article that was given to us and we added robotinc like moves in the piece to enhance it a bit more.i think that we all thought of alot of ideas and it turned out really well but i do feel like that i could have added more to it and used some of my dancing skills to help it look a bit better and give the little movement piece more life
log:today we were working on sounds that you would usually hear in a sci fi film or a dystopian film that would fit aroun this topc of AI. my group wax thinking of alarms and static sound in the backgound and the theme that we chose was sort of a evacuation from AI taking over so thats where the alarms come in. to add to the dystopian feel, i chose to scream at the very end to add suspencion and we also added lighting and turned off the lights just before i screamsed so it added an erie effect and that noone would have known what happened or what triggered the scream. i think over all it was good and the sound was good quality but i think ia should have dded more ideas to the sound design because i was observing alot even though i had good ideas to add in aswell.
log:today my group went back to working on the small movement piece that we did and added some final touches and ideas to it so that it would make a bit more sence to what the stimuli was. we then started to work on a mini scene about a celebrity hearing themself on the news about them commiting a crime. we wanted to a a bit where it was a deepfake so nooone knew if the footage is real or not but the police was still sent to the celebs house just so that they can be brought in for questioning.we wanted this scene to be used in the final product or any sort of variation . i think all i need to improve on is to constantly add in ideas instead of sitting back and trusting the process because i felt myself holdong back when i could have added in alot more ideas then i did.
log:today my group had a talk about AI and more facts about AI that we can add to the show.we did a bit more work on our devised piece with our movement teacher and we started to add in more props and it gave us a better idea of what we wanted.
log:today i had a few ideas to add to the devised piece with the celebrity deepfake and i wanted to add more scenes like the interigation with the police and then see how it woyld build up from there.we then as a group chose to change the idea that instead of the celeb being arrested, the celeb calls the police on people who made a deepfake on her and also robbed her in the process. today was a small lesson and i think we were able to get in alot og work in the time that was given.
log:todays lesson we started thinking about the new idea of this celebrity called catherine having a AI robot made by a comany who had later on scammed her. we started off with scene one where catherine does her monologue and due to her not perfoming to the directors standard, the director screams'cut' whilst the makeup team goes to check up on catherine to see if she looks up to par to the theme of the film. it then cuts to a scene of a very excited interviewer having an interview with her.even though i think we did good i think i should have contributed more aswell even though i dont have experience creating a devised performance.
log:todays lesson we were able to finish the whole devised piece.we werew talking abuot adding a script to help us out even more but we all had a strong understanding of what is happening .we went over every scene to see if it maeks sence and then we started cleaning everything up.
log:we were writing the script for the devised piece to help the storyline make a bit more sence and we took turns in adding to the script on a google doc so that all of our ideas are in it. even though we did that for most of the lesson we still were able to add in rehearsal time when ever we had a print out of the script.i feel like the whole process was very good but i do feel like i should have atleast tried to add somthing to the script even though i was struggling to think of what to add.
due to us being very close to the performance day, we added all of the final piece like costume and spacing/blocking just so that all of the transitions work out very clean and we also worked on characterisation to make it not look realistic but not pantomime like but still in the grounds of childrens theatre. i think we moved at a good pace as a team but i do think that i could have done alot more and my work ethic in this period of time was not up to my standard.
evaluationtoday is the day of the show and my group went over our piece with the helps of some uni students who were visiting us this term. we were able to finalise and clean up some things . on top of that, since my secondary role was light design,i did the lighting for the other group and sent my light design to the person who was managing the light for my group.with all of the lighting and sound being complete, we desided to use our tech run time to test out the lighting and sound with the piece. for out first run, i think we did a good job and even though it felt unusual becasue we were used to rehearse in silence we were able to adapt to it.at his poin we still had 3-4 hours left until the show so we used most of this time to go over what we needed to go over.after doing constant run throughs and taking notes multiple times we were able to finalise everything. our performance overall i think was in a good condition. i think that our characters were very consistant and i think that we were able to get on stage on time and we didnt miss any cue at all. i feel like all of my scenes were good and i feel like my projection was a a moderate level.
evaluation self corrections:. when i say'everyone back on set please, i should have been alot more confident and have more authority and power when i said it .the scene where i play catherines friend i should have projected more and overly pronounce my words because it sounded a bit mumbly . for the robot scene i should have been louder and my voice should have been more robotic .for when im on the tv, i should have been on stage for 20 seconds longer and my miming should have been bigger
