Dian Fossey and her fight against poaching.
Dian Fossey was a primatologist and conservationist from San Francisco, USA. She became famous for studying mountain gorillas in Rwanda and working to protect them from poaching. Her efforts raised global awareness about the threats these animals faced. She is also known for her book Gorillas in the Mist, which described her work. Fossey was tragically killed in Rwanda on December 26, 1985, likely due to her activism against poachers.
