Rules for borrowing Kindle readers

The readers can be borrowed by students, doctoral students and employees of the University of Warsaw, as well as other users privilaged to borrow BUW collections

Only one reader can be borrowed at a time

The readers have a so-called ‘parental lock’ in place to protect the books on the device

The reader is financially responsible for the overdue (PLN 1 for each day), lost or damaged reader

Borrowing a Kindle does not reduce the reader's borrowing limit

Users can upload their own books using the cable, which is borrowed along with the case. Before returning the reader, all self-loaded material must be removed from the reader.

The reader can be borrowed for 30 days. The due date can be renewed for another 30 days, provided that:

  • no one else reserves the device
  • the library account is not charged with fines from BUW and faculty libraries
