The Kingdom of Risca

A Brief History...

The Kingdom of Risca, once sharing an island with the Kingdom of Corwen, comprised the counties of Caedfel, Riscord, and Nimlac. Corwen included Pembroke, Vall, and Sustia. When war erupted between the two kingdoms, Risca's forces, led by the infamous Baron Victor Laydon, known as the Demon of the North, triumphed despite Laydon's injury at the Battle of Pembroke. After his recovery, Laydon commanded the final assault, resulting in the fall of Pembroke and the burning of Pembroke Manor. Now victorious, Risca encompasses all six counties: Caedfel, Riscord, Nimlac, Pembroke, Vall, and Sustia, with Riscord serving as the capital.

A Brief History...

The Kingdom of Colloson is a wild land of dense forests and insular towns steeped in ancient magic traditions. Despite the pervasive distrust of mages among the common folk, an active trade of demons and unusual creatures thrives, supplying mages and witches with mystical servants. The kingdom comprises two provinces: Kna, inhabited by nomadic elven tribes, and Dauprey, characterized by small villages and farms. The City of Stio in the south acts as the capital. Off the coast is the pirate haven, Stormbreaker Isle. King Darragh, weakened by poisoning and distrustful of his court, holds a tournament to find a champion to uncover a cure. Meanwhile, the banished witch Leonora stirs in the east, threatening the land's fragile balance.

A Brief History...

The Ille de Kand is a peaceful isle that has been historically ignored by the neighboring continents, the Kingdoms of Risca and Colloson. The Ille de Kand, or the Ille, is idyllic and warm, though it is known for it's terrible thunderstorms. The isle has been ruled by King Alaric, a just and good ruler albeit a shy one, since the death of his parents at sea three years earlier. Alaric's younger brother Tristan has a tendency to get himself into trouble, though rumors are that Tristan isn't as much of a rake as he pretends to be. Off the coast of the Ille is the suspected location of the Mer Kingdom of Silloa. Some believe its existance to be merely a fairytale, but fisherman and sailors alike swear to have seen stange things in the warm waters.

A Brief History...

Henatake is a mage-ruled kingdom where power is inherited matrilineally. Men hold little status, with the highest rank being consort to the Empress, who maintains a harem of men valued for their skills and beauty. Some serve as advisors or military leaders, but common men are seen as lesser due to their inability to bear children. A rare mutation allowing certain men to conceive makes them highly prized. Varethis, meaning Eternal Blossom, is the heart of Henatake’s power. A vast and ancient city, it is filled with towering marble structures, bustling trade districts, and grand temples dedicated to the divine rule of the Empress. The city is a place of both beauty and intrigue, where wealth and influence dictate survival. Beneth the surface, the Veiled Accord, a secretive network of nobles, scholars, and palace officials who recognize the danger of Sylvain Everose’s growing influence over the Empress. Though they lack formal leadership, they are united by a shared fear that his unchecked manipulations could lead to Henatake’s downfall. Some seek only to weaken Sylvain’s hold on the Empress, while others believe he must be removed—by any means necessary.
