Job Aid: How to Build a House with LEGO

Step 1: Gather Your Materials

• Gather all your LEGO pieces.

You will need the following:

• Basic brick pieces (for walls)

• Flat pieces (for the roof)

• Door and window pieces (if available)

• Small square or rectangular pieces (for the foundation)

• Arrange the pieces by color and size to make them easy to find.

Step 2: Build the Foundation: Start by building a square or rectangular foundation. Use flat LEGO pieces for this. Stack multiple pieces to make the foundation sturdy and level.

Step 3: Build the Walls Start stacking the wall bricks on top of the foundation. Use longer pieces at the bottom to create stability. Leave space for windows and doors. Place those pieces when you reach the appropriate height.

Step 4: Add Windows and DoorsInsert window and door pieces where you left gaps in the walls. Make sure they fit snugly. If you don’t have windows or doors, you can use regular bricks to create a design for them.

Step 5: Build the Roof Once your walls are complete, it’s time to add the roof. Lay flat LEGO pieces over the top of the walls. If your house has a pitched roof, you can use slanted pieces or overlap two rows of flat pieces.

Step 6: Decorate Your House Use extra LEGO pieces to add decorations, like a garden, chimney, or furniture inside. Get creative and make your house unique!
