The Olentangy Teacher Academy program is designed for college-bound sophomores, juniors and seniors who are interested in pursuing a career in education.

Program Overview

• Successful completion of the Olentangy Teacher Academy program can earn eligible students college credit, graduation cords, CPR/First aid certification...and more!
• Get a head start on the path to becoming successful educator by combining classroom learning with real-world experience.
• Participate in classroom internships with Olentangy teachers.
• Develop professional skills, engage in service-learning, and hone your leadership skills.

Where is Teacher Academy located?

Teacher Academy is located at Olentangy Academy.

Do I need a drivers license/car?

Program Overview

Transportation will be available to and from home high schools for class. For internships, students may provide their own transportation or will walk to a building near their home high school or be placed at their home high school or Olentangy Academy for their internship.

Do I have to find my own internships?

Students and families will work with the Teacher Academy Instructor to find internships. Networking is a professional skill we will develop and utilize to find internships. Let friends and neighbors know you are taking Teacher Academy and that you will be looking for an internship!

When do I go to my internships?

Students will have 3 internships, fall, winter and spring. Each internship is approximately 6 weeks in length. Fall internship starts in September, Winter in January and Spring in April. During the internship students have class 2-3 days week and then go to their internship the other days of the week.
