Let’s meet the inventors who made our lives better with their amazing ideas! The telephone was invented by Alexander Graham Bell, a man who wanted to help people talk to each other, even if they were far away. The radio was invented by Nikola Tesla, who discovered how to send sounds through the air for everyone to hear. Later, Alan Kay imagined and helped create the first laptop, a computer small enough to carry and use anywhere.

He is famous for imagining a type of computer called the Dynabook, which looked a lot like today’s laptops and tablets. This was a groundbreaking idea in the 1970s when most computers were huge and only used in offices.
Dynabook: Alan Kay dreamed of a computer small enough for kids to carry and use for learning, writing, drawing, and playing. This idea inspired the laptops and tablets we use today.
Education Focus: Alan Kay wanted children to use computers to explore their creativity and learn. He worked on projects to make computers fun and useful for kids.
