It’s a cold December evening in the magical Christmas village, and everyone is prepared for the big day. Tió the Christmas Log, Santa Claus and The Three Wise Men all go to show the Grinch what they have prepared.
Tió, with his red hat, says, "Sticks and sweets: I have everything ready for my special day! On the 24th of December, children sing and hit me with sticks, and I give them sweets!“
Santa Claus smiles, "Ho-ho-ho! Letters, my sleigh, my reindeers and presents! I also have everything for my special day! Children write me a letter, and on the 25th of December, I bring presents to the good children around the world!"
The Three Wise Men agree, “Camels, presents and the Christmas star. We also have everything for our special day! Children write a letter, and on the 6th of January, we bring presents to the nice children around the world and coal to the naughty ones!!"
The Grinch tells them excitedly, “I am ready to celebrate all of your special days!”. He opens the shed door very happily.
And... everyone stops shocked! There are strange things around:
Santa’s sleigh is broken and upside down, with the reindeer sleeping next to it.
Tió’s sweets are missing from his special storage box.
The Wise Men’s star is broken into pieces.
“What is going on? Everything is wrong!” Says Tió.
“We can’t deliver presents without the star, we won’t know where to go!” Say the Three Wise Men looking angrily at Santa. “Are you competing again to celebrate only one special day?” Asks the Grinch.
“Not me, but I can’t deliver presents if my reindeer are sleeping…” says Santa looking suspiciously at the Grinch. “Maybe it’s the wind again.” says the Grinch, nervously playing with his scarf. “Someone is trying to ruin Christmas, for sure!” “Let’s investigate and see if we can find out what happened…” suggests Tió.
The group splits up to look for clues: The Grinch and Tió go to the forest, the Three Wise Men go by the river and Santa explores the shed.
The Grinch and Tió find a small piece of green fabric on a branch.
They also find small footprints in the snow leading to a pile of half-eaten sweets.
“Hmm... someone small has been here,” says Tió.
“Let’s follow these footprints!”
The Three Wise Men discover broken pieces of their star floating in the water.
They also find jingle bells scattered near the riverbank.
“Whoever did this must be in a hurry,” says Gaspar.
“There are bells everywhere!” says Melchior.
“Let’s see where they lead?” asks Balthasar.
Santa discovers that someone spilled glitter all over the presents and knocked over the tools.
He also finds a tiny trail of glitter going out of the shed.
“Oh, oh… I think I know who it might be,” Santa mutters to himself, and starts following the trail.
The clues lead everyone to a snowy hill just outside the village, where they find Trixie the Elf sitting with a suspicious smile.
As the group confronts Trixie, she smiles suspiciously and says, “You caught me! But I am not naughty… I had an important mission from Santa himself.” Everyone looks confused.
“Mission?” asks Tió, raising an eyebrow.
“Me? What do you mean?” asks Santa, confused.
Trixie nods. “I’m one of Santa’s secret Watcher Elves, sent to test if everyone is truly ready for Christmas. Sometimes, a little bit of chaos shows who has the real Christmas spirit.”
"It's true" Santa says “I send Watcher Elves every year to see how people behave and also how they work together when things go wrong. But I can’t remember sending them this year…!”
Trixie holds up a big sparkling bottle. “I used my Forget-Me Glitter on you, Santa! I needed you to forget about me so I could test everyone.”
“Test us?” ask the Three Wise Men, surprised.
“Yes! I had to see if you all could work together and show kindness—even when you doubted each other.” says Trixie.
The group exchanges guilty looks, remembering how they suspected one another.
Trixie smiles warmly. “That’s why I hid the sweets and caused trouble. You all passed the test with flying colors!”
Grinch adds, “True… Christmas isn’t just about everything going perfectly. It’s about how we come together to celebrate, no matter what. You all showed me that!”
As the group processes the news going back home, Trixie pulls out a tiny bag of silver glitter. She throws it into the air.
The Christmas tree lights up with magical colors. The sleigh shines under the tree, perfectly restored and the reindeer wake up and jingle the bells, the box is full of sweets again and the Christmas star is fixed. “Now that the test is over, you can all celebrate!” says Trixie.
The group laughs and starts singing and dancing, preparing a big party for the night.
Looking at them from the door, Trixie whispers, “They are being good people this year. But next year… I might have to visit again.” She winks and disappears into the snowy night, leaving behind a trail of glitter.
