Step 2. She escaped (Underground RailRoad)- entered Philadelphia and obtained false papers

Step 3. Rescued 9 slaves including members of her family then led a group of 11 fugitives to the north

Step 4. Civil war : quickly became a prominent figure in the camps located at Port Royal . Served as a cook and a nurse
