Registration of the UW community members
You can activate your library card remotely!
Your UW student/employee ID (ELS/ELD/ELP/ELN) will be your library card. To enter BUW and borrow books, use your physical ID card or log in to your account and scan the QR code! The registration is free of charge for the members of the UW community.
*For UW students, renewal of your library account is automatic when passing grades for each subsequent semester appear in the USOS system. If your account has not been automatically renewed, please visit the Registration Point!

Card, account, login, number, password...?
By registering at BUW you open your library account. To use BUW fully you need a login and password. The number of the library card is your login. You'll find it on your card:
Use your login and password to access:
- reader's account to order books
and journals from the Closed Stacks (BUW Magazyn),
- online resources available
from the BUW website,
- WiFi network: BUW.Hotspot,
- desktop computers in the Library.
The card number should be clearly legible. If it's not, it's worth replacing the card!
Registration for other users
Info
- BUW cards can be issued to anyone over 16 years old.*
- People from outside the UW can only use the collections on site,
without the right to borrow books home.
- A valid identity document (passport/residence card) is required for the registration.
- The account is valid for a year.
- Setting up a library account costs 20 PLN,
prolonging (renewal) of a library account costs 10 PLN.Please note: Cashless payment (card, NFC) only!
*People who are not yet 18 years of age can sign up only accompanied by a parent/legal guardian who completes a commitment form.

You can register on site at the Registration Point at BUW from Monday to Saturday between 9 am and 9 pm.
You'll find the Registration in the first room to the left from the main entrance to BUW at the crossing of Dobra and Lipowa Streets.
Register here if:
- you don't study/work at UW,
- you study/work at UW, but you don't have
the UW ID card (ELS, ELD, ELP, ELN),
- the online activation didn't work.
Click on the link https://aktywacja.buw.uw.edu.pl/en/
Choose the type of your card (student/employee ID)
Familiarise yourself with the regulations and agree to abide by them
Check your data, confirm and set your password
Log in to the Central Authentication Service (CAS): enter your PESEL and the same password as used for USOS
You will receive confirmation that your account has been created
Once activated online, your student/emplyee ID becomes your library card - you can use BUW after you receive a confirmation email!
