Business & management

Are you savvy about business and management? An economist or accountant? An event planner?

Volunteer shop manager

Apply your business management skills and run a volunteer shop selling clothes and equipment for guiding. This role is a chance to meet some wonderful girls, volunteers and parents and to raise money for your area.

Communications & PR advisor

Use your knowledge of communication and PR to help Girlguiding locally to run social media and communication channels. Get out there and tell the world about guiding and help bring more volunteers and girls into your local area.

Unit administrator

Put your excellent organisational skills to good use as a unit administrator to help Girlguiding locally to run accounts and budgets.

Humanities

Are you a historian or linguist?

Archivist

Harness your passion for history and help us collect and preserve our story! Your efforts will help us inspire new members through the stories of the girls and women who've gone before them.

County international adviser

Combine your organisation and communication skills with your passion for travel as an international adviser. You'll support leaders in your county to offer exciting international opportunities to young members. As adviser, you'll provide practical support to members as they get involved in international guiding.

Environmental sciences

Are you a geographer, ecologist or environmental scientist?

Outdoor activities adviser

If you're passionate about getting girls outdoors and applying your passion for adventure, then we need you as an outdoor activities adviser! You'll support and train fellow volunteers in the practical and logistical ways they can give girls more opportunities for adventure.

Unit or county helper

Volunteering with Girlguiding can be flexible to suit your lifestyle. As a unit or county helper, you have the opportunity to gain experience volunteering at different units, with different age groups. Apply your skills and experiences where you can, when you can. Love event planning? Help organise events in your area. Side hustle as a yoga instructor? Run sessions across your county to give girls the opportunity to learn new skills. The possibilities are endless!

STEM

Are you studying science, technology, engineering or maths (STEM)? These roles might be the ones for you.

GO coordinator

If you're confident using databases, apply your analytical skills in this role supporting members using GO in your area. You'll do the important job of keeping everything up-to-date and making sure that people are trained to use it. You’ll have training on how to use GO (our membership system), and you don’t need to have any previous experience of guiding.

ID verifier

Use and develop your organisational skills to support new volunteers to get involved in Girlguiding. You'll be responsible for checking and verifying a volunteer’s identity documents for recruitment checks during the onboarding process.

Arts & culture

Are you a designer, artist, performer or creative?

Mentor

Be a friendly face - and much more - to a fellow volunteer as they train for one of our qualifications. As well as supporting them, you'll also decide when they're qualified.

Enquiry coordinator

Make sure that everyone who's interested in joining guiding in your area gets a warm welcome by helping to respond to their enquiries.

Website, social media/ communications and PR adviser

Trainer/prospective trainer

Apply and develop your teaching skills and join hundreds of inspiring volunteers who help other members to learn. As a trainer, you'll facilitate and deliver Girlguiding learning opportunities so that we're all providing quality guiding.

Unit leader

Develop your leadership skills, help grow your confidence, gain experience of working in a team and enhance your communication skills as a unit leader. Working directly with girls, you’ll plan and run activities with your team, from parachute games to cooking challenges and everything in between.
