Review: Give Voice Requests

Introduction

You can give voice requests to Merlyn using the push-to-talk button on the Origin remote. Follow these steps to give a voice request:

Begin by pressing and holding the Push-to-Talk button on the remote. This will activate the remote's microphone. Wait for the beep and look for the Merlyn orange dot in the upper right corner of your main display. This will let you know that Merlyn is listening for your request. Give your request. Release the button.

The discussion feature in Breaktime allows you to quickly and easily generate topical and grade leveled discussion questions using a voice request and the remote. For example, if you said, "Let's have a discussion about the major literary themes found in The Great Gatsby." Practice Voice Requests

Introduction

  • Begin by pressing and holding the Push-to-Talk button on the remote. This will activate the remote's microphone.
  • Wait for the beep and look for the Merlyn orange dot in the upper right corner of your main display. This will let you know that Merlyn is listening for your request.
  • Give your request.
  • Release the button.

Section Two

Practice Voice Requests and Remote Functions

  • To activate the Air Mouse, press the AirMouse button on the remote.
  • Once the AirMouse is active, you can use the orange button on your remote to make selections.
  • Think of the orange button like the left click on a mouse, or the enter button on a conventional keyboard.
  • Note: The AirMouse button is only an on/off switch, it is not an enter or select button.
