2030 AGENDA

Andrea Piccolo 5BAFM

What does it consist of ?

Agenda 2030 is to an international political action program adoptedby the UN General Assembly in 2015; has no binding effects like a treaty, it does not impose legal sanctions if states do not respect it.This is a key legal point: the Agenda is soft law, not hard law.

GOAL 8

Goal 8 focuses on promoting a new model of economic development that combines growth with environmental protection, ensuring inclusion and equity in the distribution of economic resources and working conditions.

Specific targets aim to promote efficiency in the use of natural resources and sustainable tourism as channels for job creation, environmental protection, and the enhancement of local culture. Strengthening financial institutions should also be seen from an inclusive perspective, aimed at expanding access to financial, banking, and insurance services

Economic Policy Choices adopted by the Italian Government

Piano Nazionale di Ripresa e Resilienza (PNRR):

The 2030 Agenda:does not create direct legal obligations in Italy or other states, but is referred to in many national laws, plans and strategies. States often include SDGs in their systems as political objectives bound by internal rules (e.g. action plans, parliamentary reports).

Strategia Nazionale per lo Sviluppo Sostenibile (SNSvS):

Objective 8 of the 2030 Agenda aims to promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, ensuring full and productive employment and decent work for all. In Italy, the government has adopted several economic policies to achieve this goal Italy adopted...

Piano Nazionale di Ripresa e Resilienza (PNRR):

Through investments in digitalisation, innovation, sustainable infrastructure and social inclusion, the plan aims to stimulate economic growth and create quality jobs. A mapping of PNRR resources shows the allocation of funds against the various Sustainable Development Goals, including Goal 8.

Strategia Nazionale per lo Sviluppo Sostenibile (SNSvS):

The SNSvS integrates the principles of the 2030 Agenda into the Italian socio-economic and political context, providing a roadmap to address challenges such as sustainable economic growth and employment. The strategy promotes development-oriented policies that support productive activities, entrepreneurship and innovation, in line with Objective 8 targets

Goal 8

More or less half of the world's population still lives on the equivalent of about two dollars a day. In many places, having a job does not guarantee the possibility of escaping poverty. This slow and unequal progress requires reconsidering and reorganizing our economic and social policies aimed at poverty eradication. . The creation of quality jobs remains one of the greatest challenges for almost all economies

  • Global unemployment rose from 170 million in 2007 to nearly 202 million in 2012; of these, approximately 75 million are young women and men
  • • Nearly 2.2 billion people live below the $2 a day threshold; l’ poverty eradication is only possible through stable, well-paid jobs.
  • • Globally, 470 million jobs are needed for those entering the labor market between 2016 and 2030.
