History of Aracena
First we have to meet a little bit af this place

Aracena, in Huelva, has Roman origins and grew under Muslim rule. After the Reconquest in the thirteenth century, it passed to Castile. It stood out for its livestock and the Grotto of Wonders. Its heritage includes the Castle of Aracena and the church of Los Remedios. Today it is famous for its history, landscapes and gastronomy, especially Iberian ham.

Aracena,s castle

The Castle of Aracena is a fortress located in the municipality of Aracena, in the province of Huelva, Andalusia, Spain. It dates from medieval times, specifically from the thirteenth century, although it has undergone various reforms over the centuries. It was built by the Muslims, but later passed into Christian hands after the conquest of the area by Ferdinand III in 1252. The castle sits atop a hill, giving you a panoramic view of the surroundings. Although much of the original structure has been lost today, you can still see remains of the walls, the keep and other elements that account for its former splendor. Currently, the castle is part of the historical and tourist heritage of the town, being one of the main attractions of Aracena.

Gruta de las maravillas

The Gruta de las maravillas is a famous cave located in the town of Aracena, in the province of Huelva, Spain. It is known for its stunning underground beauty and for being one of the most important cave systems in the country. The cave is formed through the action of water on limestone rocks, which has given rise to geological formations such as stalagmites, stalactites and columns. It was discovered in 1850 and, since then, it has become an important tourist attraction, offering guided tours of its galleries decorated with formations of great aesthetic value. The Grotto of Wonders is about 2,500 metres long, although only part of it is open to visitors. Its magical atmosphere and strategic lighting enhance the natural beauty of this spectacular underground landscape.
