3D PRINTING

3D printer--> is a machine that can print figures with volume from a computer design.The first 3D printer was in 1994 The main parts are: -Extruder: the part that takes the filament from the coll and deposits the exact amount on the print bed. It also have a hot-end, which melt the material. -Electronics: controlls all the processes in the printer. -Mechanics: include the motors and mechanisms that move the material and deposits in the selected spot.

MATERIALS FOR 3D PRINTING

The plastics used in 3D printing are generally ABS ( ndustrial use) and PLA ( for domestic use ). ABS: PLA: - Tough, hard and rigid plastic. - Plastic made by natural materials - Withstand high temperature - Biodegradable - Easy to machine - Difficult to machine - Recyclable - Odorless and doesn´nt fade LAYBRICK LAYWOO-D3 - Mixture of plaster plastic materials - Made from polymer and 40% wood - Used to create parts with a particles. sand-stone. - Obtain parts with a wood-like finish FILAFLEX - Flexible filament witha a base of polyurethane - Usually used to make trainers.

3D PRINTING PROCESS

DESIGN:We design the part that we want to print. The file must be saved in STL format. SLICING: 1. Translate STL file intro GCODE format ( the format the printer understands ). 2. The program determinate how many layers we need and the order. PRINTING: GCODE file generated during slicing is copied intro a memory card inserted in the 3D printer. Finally, the file is sent.
