• Robert Peck, um psicólogo e teórico do desenvolvimento, propôs que a idade avançada e a velhice envolvem tarefas ou desafios cruciais que as pessoas enfrentam para lidar positivamente com essa fase da vida. Ele elaborou sua teoria como uma extensão do trabalho de Erik Erikson, abordando questões específicas do envelhecimento. Aqui estão os principais pontos que Peck defendia sobre idade e velhice:
• Diferenciação do Self em Relação ao Trabalho:Peck argumentava que, após a aposentadoria, é essencial que as pessoas desenvolvam uma identidade além do papel profissional.
