EN ESTA HISTORIA VAMOS A HABLAR SOBRE alfonso XIII, second republic, spanish civil war, francoist dictatorship and democrazy at last
spain was in a very big crisis. there were poverty everywhere but it was even worse in villages and towns in the countryside.
in 1923, general primo de rivera staged a coup with the king alfonso xiii consent.
alfonso XIII supported autoritarism rather than constitutional liberalism.

clara Campoamor fought against sexual discrimination, for the legal equality of children born within and outside marriage, the right to divorce and universal suffrage, often called the "women's vote"Campoamor went into exile when the Civil War started, she died in Switzerland.

When the civil war was finished, she went into exile.

She was a Spanish multisport player who practiced hockey, swimming, skiing and pioneer at the beginning of Spanish women's athletics.
She was also the first Spanish female to participate in a Winter Olympic Games. She competed in skiing in 1936.

She was educator, feminist, founder of the Residencia de Señoritas in Madrid. It was the first centre in Spain to prepare women for advanced education.
1882-1948
Some impotant women were in the Residencia de Señoritas as Josefina Carabias. The painter Maruja Mallo was a teacher there and Clara Campoamor participated in some projects.
With the start of the Civil War, the Residencia of Señoritas came to end and María left Spain for Buenos Aires.
