LA SINDONE DI TORINO
INIZIAMO!
LA SINDONE:
La sindone è un lenzuolo di lino su cui è impressa l'imaggine, frontale e dorsale, di uomo flagellato e crocifisso. Si tratta del corpo di uomo coronato di spine senza che le siano state spezzate le gambe, descrizioni che coincidono con quella di Gesù all'interno dei vangeli.
'LA STORIA DELLA SINDONE:
La tradizione cristiana sostiene che la Sindone sia il sudario che avvolse il corpo di Gesù Cristo dopo la sua crocifissione. Secondo i Vangeli, Gesù fu sepolto in un sepolcro, e il corpo fu avvolto in un lenzuolo di lino. Tuttavia, i primi riferimenti documentati alla Sindone non appaiono fino al Medioevo, creando un mistero sulle sue origini La storia della Sindone inizia nel XIV secolo, quando il lenzuolo appare per la prima volta in Francia, un cavaliere francese, esibì la Sindone nella sua chiesa di Lirey, dove divenne oggetto di devozione. La presenza della Sindone in Francia è ben documentata, ma non è chiaro come vi sia arrivata.
COME E' ARRIVATA A TORINO:
Nel 1353 la Sindone arriva a Chambéry, in Francia, grazie a Guglielmo di Charny, che la dona al conte Amedeo VI di Savoia. Durante un'invasione francese nel 1536, la Sindone viene temporaneamente portata in Francia per motivi di sicurezza, ma ritorna a Chambéry nel 1559. Nel 1578 il Duca Emanuele Filiberto di Savoia trasferisce la Sindone definitivamente a Torino, capitale del Ducato di Savoia, dove viene custodita nella Cappella della Sindone della Cattedrale di Torino. Da allora, la Sindone è rimasta a Torino, sotto la custodia della famiglia Savoia.
La Sindone di Torino è un lenzuolo di lino mostra un uomo che presenta segni tipici della crocifissione: ferite nelle mani, nei piedi, una ferita sul lato destro, segni di flagellazione e una possibile corona di spine. L'immagine è visibile sia sul fronte che sulla parte posteriore, suggerendo che il corpo fosse stato completamente avvolto nel lenzuolo. La colorazione dell'immagine è giallo-bruna, e appare come un negativo fotografico, facilmente visibile in negativo. Il lenzuolo mostra segni di usura, macchie e danni causati dal passare del tempo, tra cui le bruciature lasciate dall'incendio a Chambéry. La Sindone è stata piegata molte volte, come si può osservare nelle pieghe e impronte visibili. Alcune macchie presenti sulla Sindone sembrano essere di sangue umano, soprattutto nelle zone delle mani, dei piedi e del capo.
