Il Messia è stato inviato da Dio ed è stato unto per recare una buona notizia agli umili. Dio lo ha mandato per fasciare tutti quelli che hanno il cuore spezzato, per proclamare la libertà agli schiavi, per restituire vista, per l’apertura del carcere ai prigionieri e per proclamare l’anno di grazia del signore. Quindi il Messia è colui che è stato inviato da Dio per salvare il popolo:

Il Messia quindi dice che tutto ciò avverrà finalmente oggi stesso e che questo è l’anno di grazia del Signore, questo è un anno di giubileo in cui ai poveri, ciechi e agli altri bisognosi e malati viene offerta la redenzione (salvezza, libertà) quie adesso.

Una volta il Diavolo dice di trasformare una roccia in pane (il Messia era in viaggio da 40 giorni quindi non mangiava da molto tempo) ma lui risponde che gli uomini non hanno solo bisogno del pane per vivere. Questo significa che il Messia darà all'uomo non solo beni materali ma anche dei beni spirituali.

La seconda volta il diavolo gli mostra tutti i regni del mondo e dice che il Messia potrebbe averli tutti per lui. Il Messia gli risponde che solo a Dio bisognerà rendere culto. Ciò significa che solo a Dio bisognerà dare amore, servizio, obbedienza, gratitudine, ecc...
