Colors in the water
We poured water into glasses and added different food colors to each. Using rolled kitchen paper, we connected the colored glasses to the empty ones. We observed how the colors traveled through the paper and mixed in the empty glasses..
Friendship QR codes
Students read The Rainbow Fish and discussed its message about friendship.
They highlighted key parts of the story and shared recommendations for building healthy friendships.
Their ideas were documented and uploaded to QR codes, which they designed themselves.
Students scanned QR codes to discover friendship tips from peers at other schools.
Rainbow fish bridge building
Children imagined an ocean using blue fabric or paper.
They used blocks or craft sticks to create a bridge for the Rainbow Fish to "swim" under or connect two sides of the ocean.
The strength of the bridge was tested by placing small objects on top.
Water color art
Students drew a fish shape on cardstock, cut it out, and added bold white crayon lines.
They painted the fish with vibrant watercolours, revealing the white crayon lines as patterns. To finish, they added a googly eye and a smile, creating their own Rainbow Fish!s.
Dive into shapes: Build a magical, rainbow underwater world
Children used shapes like circles, triangles, and squares to design and glue their own Rainbow Fish. Photos of the fish were shared with partner schools and combined into a digital book, Our Rainbow Fish Shapes.
