Biography

Rigoberta Menchú is a Guatemalan indigenous woman who grew up in poverty and suffered exploitation on a coffee farm. Her mother was a traditional midwife. Since she was little, she experienced the injustices and repression of the army and landowners towards her community. Her fight for indigenous rights led her to win the Nobel Peace Prize in 1992.

Rigoberta Menchu Nobel Prize
