Feminists today

While significant progress has been made since the first wave of feminism, which fought for women's suffrage and basic rights, women do not yet have the same rights and opportunities as men in many parts of the world. The disparity between men and women varies greatly depending on the country, culture, and context, but several key reasons contribute to why gender inequality still persists:

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie is a Nigerian writer and outspoken feminist who advocates for gender equality and women's empowerment. In her works, like We Should All Be Feminists and Americanah, she challenges traditional gender roles and calls for global recognition of women's rights.

It concerns two families of the landed gentry living on the West Yorkshire moors, the Earnshaws and the Lintons, and their turbulent relationships with the Earnshaws' foster son, Heathcliff. The novel, influenced by Romanticism and Gothic fiction, is considered a classic of English literature.

Plot

Jane Eyre is an orphan raised by her cruel aunt and sent to a harsh school. She becomes a governess at Thornfield Hall, where she falls in love with Mr. Rochester.

Passionate love from a woman's standpoint.

The question of the role of women.

Chillhood and education

The novel takes place in: 1. Gateshead is the Reeds' home; 2. Lowood Institution is the place of Jane's education; 3. Thornfield is Mr Rochester's house; 4. Moor House is the Rivers' house on the moor; 5. Ferndean is Mr Rochester's rural mansion.

the setting of the YORKSHIRE MOORS is sublime; it's both beautiful and brutal and mirrors the emotional complexity of the characters.

Nature

Jane is a very assertive heroine who tries to find her own identity. She speaks with perfect frankness about herself and often against dominant male figures
