The date commemorates the day on which the United Nations General Assembly adopted, in 1989, the UN Convention on the Rights of Children and Adolescents. There are over 190 countries in the world that have ratified the Convention. In Italy its ratification took place in 1991.

World children's day is celebrated on november 20th every year. it's aspecial day to think about and protect the rights of children all over the world.This day was created by the united nation to make sure that every child,no matter where they live,can have a safe, healty and happy life.
