Introduction and How to Explain Vocabulary
Today we are going to talk about how to learn and explain new words in English. The first step is to understand what a word means. To teach vocabulary, you need to explain the meaning of the word, use simple examples, and connect it to things you already know. One technique we use is to write the word on a flashcard and add its definition or a picture next to it. This way, when we see the word, we can quickly remember what it means.
Methods to Explain and Remember Vocabulary:
A good way to remember vocabulary is to connect words with pictures. For example, if you are learning the word ‘dog,’ you can put a picture of a dog next to the word. You can also make flashcards, with the word on one side and the definition or a picture on the other side. Every time you look at the word, you can remember its meaning and practice it
Using Examples and Context to Explain Vocabulary:
It is very important to use the words we are learning in sentences. This helps us understand how they are used in different situations. For example, if we are learning the word ‘apple,’ we can say: ‘I eat an apple every morning.’ This makes the vocabulary easier to remember because we see how it is used in a real context.
Repetition and Review of Vocabulary
A very useful trick to remember vocabulary is repetition. You can review the words you learned at the end of the day, or even the next day. It’s important to repeat and use the words many times so you don’t forget them. Also, apps like Duolingo or Quizlet can help you review vocabulary in a fun and easy way, showing the words many times so you don’t forget them.
